  • The Wide River Ranch is located approximately 4.5 miles northeast of Paint Rock or approximately 32 miles east of San Angelo on both sides of Farm-to-Market Road 1929.

  • The Wide River Ranch provides excellent recreational and ranching opportunities and boasts superb river frontage along the Concho River. The ranch lies on both sides of Farm-to-Market 1929 with the portion on the south side of the road providing level to sloping terrain towards the river. This is deeper soil country that has both native and improved grasses. Improved grasses consist of Klein, Coastal Bermuda and B-Dahl Bluestem. Elevations on the south side of the ranch range from approximately 1,590 feet above sea level where the improvements are located to approximately 1,570 feet above sea level along the river. The portion of the ranch on the north side of FM 1929 has deeper soil in the south part with some improved grasses before the elevations climb to approximately 1,650 feet above sea level in the north part of the ranch offering good views back towards the river valley and the community of Paint Rock. There is an excellent turf of native and improved grasses throughout the entire ranch.
  • Surface water on the ranch is stellar for this area. There is approximately 2,600 feet of frontage along the north bank of the Concho River. This stretch of river varies from 4 feet to 6 feet deep and is approximately 150' wide in several places. This stretch of water provides good fishing opportunities and several good access points. There is an old grove of old pecan trees along a portion of the river providing shade and a neat place to relax. In addition to the river, there is approximately 4.5 miles of both sides of Fuzzy Creek as it meanders through the ranch. There is a dam along the creek that provides a good hole of water. In the north portion of the ranch, Pistol Creek meanders from north to south. Pistol Creek is a wet weather creek that feeds into 5 surface tanks before it empties into Fuzzy Creek. Several of these tanks are stocked with bass and catfish. In addition to the abundant surface water, the ranch is watered by one water well that services the entire ranch. This well pumps water to various troughs throughout the ranch. There is also a meter on the Millersview-Doole Water line. The meter has not been activated but is available.
  • The Wide River Ranch is improved with a rock house that was originally constructed in the 1920's. The current owners have remodeled the home which now encompasses approximately 2,700 square feet according to the Concho County Appraisal District. The house consists of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a nice covered patio overlooking a 26,000 gallon concrete pila that serves as a swimming pool. In addition to the house, there is a 40'x 60' metal barn with a concrete floor as well as other outbuildings. The sellers are willing to sell and leave a substantial amount of personal property in addition to the ranch at an additional cost. A list of these items can be provided.
  • The Wide River Ranch provides endless recreational opportunities with the river and creek frontage. Fishing is excellent as well as hunting for white-tailed deer, turkey and quail. This ranch has been lightly grazed over the years and provides an excellent turf of both native and improved grasses.
